Slow days,
salted hours,
an open sea.
Summer Gate sits on the lip of Ksamil's whitest cove, a small kitchen and beach bar built from local pine, woven reed and the sort of quiet that only the Ionian knows. Mornings here are for espresso under the bamboo; afternoons belong to the umbrellas; and evenings — to long tables, lemon, and whatever the boats brought in.
We cook simply. Sea bream from the bay, mussels from Butrint, tomatoes still warm from the field, olive oil pressed an hour south of here. Nothing more than the coast needs.

Four small rooms
on the same shore.
Summer Gate is one address with four moods — a kitchen, a beach club, a sunset bar, and a place for the days that matter. Each one opens to the sea.

- 01
Seaside Kitchen
Mediterranean plates built around the day's catch from the bay — sea bream, mussels, octopus, with vegetables from the village and olive oil pressed nearby.
- 02
Beach Club
Reed umbrellas, soft loungers, and turquoise water two steps away. Coffee in the morning, cocktails as the heat fades, towels and shade all day.
- 03
Sunset Bar
House wine, Albanian raki, and slow cocktails as the Ionian turns gold. The best seats look straight across to the islands.
- 04
Private Events
Birthdays, anniversaries, small weddings on the sand. Long tables, lanterns, and a kitchen that adapts to your menu.
A few moments
from our coast.

Reasons
the regulars
come back.
- Feet in the sand
- We're not near the beach — we are the beach. Walk five steps from your table to the water.
- Cooked simply, sourced close
- Fish from the bay, produce from the village, olive oil from the hills behind us. Nothing travels far.
- The best sunsets in Ksamil
- Our terrace faces west toward the islands. Locals plan their evenings around this view.
- A family-run house
- Built by a local family, run by a local family. You'll meet us at the door, the bar, and the kitchen.
A family,
a shore,
a kitchen.
Summer Gate began as a single wooden hut built by a local family in the spring of 2014, on a quiet stretch of Ksamil sand that the village still called "the gate to the sea." Locals passing the construction stopped to bring wood, nails, plates — and a name.
A decade later we're still a family house: the same hands meet guests at the door, run the kitchen and the bar, and chase the cats around the terrace at sunset. What hasn't changed is the answer to "what's good today?" — whatever the boats brought in this morning.

- 2014The family raises the first pine-and-reed shack on a quiet stretch of Ksamil sand.
- 2017The kitchen opens. Local fishermen start tying up at the rocks each morning.
- 2020The terrace is rebuilt — bamboo roof, hanging lanterns, room for long tables.
- TodayThree generations on the same shore, still cooking what the sea brings.
Words from the
long tables.
“The most beautiful sunset dinner of our whole trip. The fish was perfect, the wine was cold, and the staff treated us like cousins.”
